Your IMAGINATION is VITAL

Using your imagination in magic and pushing your creativity to the limit can set you aside from the others. This is one of my strongest points in magic. Customization! yes! customization. When you buy a magic prop it already looks magical, but add a few more bells and whistles as well as a new twist to a effect and you have a awesome effect. Lets take a common effect such as the change bag. What does it really look like? a offering bag? how about making your own change bag using a tennis racket

and some of course premaid fabric. Change bag style if you know what I mean. You can say that getting offerings at church could almost be compared to a game of tennis. (You pull out the racket and break the mesh and say) "If your racket is broke you can't play the game and you'll loose the game? If your competing in a tennis match you'll loose the MONEY! you have to come prepared for anything no matter what. The same can go for the church. (You start to take a headband off your head (camouflaged as change bag) or some sort of material and wrap it around the frame of tennis racket) The same goes for the church if you don't come prepared (show bag empty) you won't grow an prosper. But if you work hard, share your gifts and talents you will prosper and share the wealth. (You than reach into one empty bag and pull out a bundle of cascading money) So you get the point? I'm no expert on religion and I hope this was a good example of how you can take something simple and turn it into something meaningful and

memorable rather than just pulling cards, silks or what not out of a bag. Being a master at cards, coin manipulation is half the battle. Setting yourself from the others is about the other half or even more. People hardly remember my magic as myself, but as soon as I put on the nerd glasses and transformed my self into the Nerdgician or IMAGINATOR mI was finally getting noticed and remembered. When I was on WGN TV as "The NerdGician"

I got many compliments on something that I thought was just cheap humor, but what I discovered is that people not only want to enjoy the magic, but they want to have some kind of common relation. Something to relate to. The NerdGician was just some guy who dressed dorky and knew that he was a nerd and despite how he looked and how people judged  him he kept smiling. That is a very strong statement to convey to your audience without even saying anything. Well I have to go folks and just to set the record straight! I'm not a know it all, I'm not a pro at cards, coins. I'm not a famous magician, although hopefully soon. LOL. I SUCK at grammar. OH WELL!!! that's another story. I'm in the same boat as most of you. For those that did make it. CONGRATS!!!! hats off.

I just hope that through believing in yourself you will be able to find your niche. Always try to be kind and help other magicians out. It will help you grow and feel good about yourself. The real MYSTERY is the world in which we live. So while we are all here living together let's try to maker it the show of a life time, because you never know who is sitting in the theatre seats.
