Be a MAN!
We are often told to "MAN UP" but what are the after effects of putting pressure on our children with this sort of behavior? I know when I was young I was yelled at for doing certain things such as crying or showing emotion. I'm sure a lot of us have, but being yelled at and telling children to man up, grow up, don't be a girl isn't a supportive way to raise our children of the future. What message are we conveying? Are we teaching them to hide their true feelings and not be who they really are? To me being a man is a man that is loving and compassionate. A man is someone that doesn't hide behind a mask. A man knows who he is and knows where he's going. A man cries and makes mistakes. A man faces up to his mistakes and learns from them. A man is the positive image, love and support that should be given to us when we are born so that we can grow up and be a man and pass the man onto others.
A man is a HERO!
