Supporting our peers. Supporting one another comes back to you.

Shortly after my "Butterfly in a Box" effect I created a magic effect called "Out of the Box" No! I don't have a thing for boxes. The effect was almost ready to start manufacturing and producing, but then I found a youtube video that was almost the same effect that I thought i invented. The magician who created the effect is Ray Roch. Ray created his effect called the "NO GIMMICK CHOP-CUP" about 20 years ago. Thanks to the powerful tool of the internet I saved myself some trouble of producing "Out of the BOX" had I not done my research.

I decided to contact Ray who lives on Canada to tell him my bizarre story of how I thought I created a effect  that was almost to the T, like his! We actually had a skyp meting and he wanted me to show him my effect. Ray loved it and he also thought that my technique and method was different enough and he encouraged me to go forward with my "Out of the BOX" effect.

I still felt that mine was too close to Ray's so I decided to put the breaks on it. It really didn't bother me too much because I already had a few other ideas on the back burner.

About a month ago Ray called me and asked if I could produce his magic product trailer and of course I was more then happy to help. I think as a magic community that it's important to support one another rather then some magicians always boasting about how great they are or there travels around the world. We have to give back and have a strong support structure for one another.

I didn't even ask for anything as far as money from Ray. I was just happy enough to be able to make his magic product trailer and I was happy enough with that because Ray was kind enough to let me put my name at the end of the trailer as a production edit credit. By doing that I hopefully may get work from other magicians/inventors that may be seeking some help since this seems to be the direction I'm going.

I did the same thing with other magicians who I helped get there magic product on the market. Not only did I help Ray Roch get his product sold through Murpy's Magic, but I helped Marshall Brodien Jr., Michael Trixx, Steve Hart, Brennan Pimpinella and possible one or two more. I think when we find our strength in magic we have to go with the flow and run with it because you never know how long it will last. I may not be in the spotlight or in Vegas, Russia or Japan, but I'm in my own world and fame and the magic I invent will be traveling father then I could ever imagine.
