IMagination is Universal
Play
is universal. I remember as a kid playgrounds were packed with kids
playing using their Imagination. Have we lost touch in our society the
importance of play? It's very critical to bring back some of the
universal elements. The importance of play not only opens up the doors
of Imagination and creativity, but also helps with exercise, dexterity
and social learning skills such as forming teams assigning play jobs and
solving problems. A lot of kids these days have their face in a video
game. The video games are robbing our children's minds.
Children must be allowed to get dirty and learn to take risks and negotiate
social relationships that might be complicated, unexpected, or
unpredictable. Play is crucial for your child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. It's your child's way of learning. Sometimes as adults we tend to forget that. We forget the innocent, spontaneous and sometimes mischievous things kids do. We as parents need to give them some slack and be open minded. Our stress and the things we constantly have on our mind spills out onto them. They can pick up on it and can infect their imagination. If your at a store and your child is excited , anxious and wants to let out their bottled up energy, why not embrace them? goof around with them and be a kid with them. You may find that it benefits the both of you and your relationship will bond and grow even more closer together.
We as parents
complain about this, yet we are the ones that supply the drugs. We can
have a common ground, a balance with both. So don't feel bad top tell
your child to get off the video games, go outside and use your
imagination, because the world depends on it.
